The Regenerative Garden
PROVIDING LOCAL FOOD WHILE REGENERATING SOIL
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Australia produces an abundant amount of food, more than enough to feed all Australians. Yet, much of the food eaten by university students is highly processed and low in nutrition.
This project aims to establish an edible garden on the Footscray Park campus of Victoria University to produce organic and nutrient-rich plant food that can be provided to university students at low cost. Using the garden as a place of connection, workshops will be run to educate students in healthy cooking and healthy lifestyles, how to grow their own food and education in regenerative practises that improve the health of soils and its connection to our own health and that of our community.
